Sabol Designs Army Transport
Let me start out by saying if you have any qualms about laying down the cash to buy a Sabol Designs Army Transport, just do it, you won't regret it.

My review of the Army Transport has an interesting twist to it. When I originally bought my Army Transport, I bought it on ebay directly from Sabol. They were getting rid of their old stock to introduce a new and better made case. I figured since money was an object I would get one of the older cases because it was at a good price. Every thing was fine until one day about a week after I had received it the bag started splitting up the side of the case. I realized that this was obviously a design flaw and that this was the reason Sabol had redesigned the case. The old case was made from a plastic like material that when sewn together didn't hold up as well at the stress points. The new bag is made from a heavy waterproof mesh fabric that is much stronger and won't tear at those same stress points. Since I had only had the bag a week and it was only going to rip more with use I decided to write them and see if I could get a replacement. I wrote them a nice letter telling them what had happened and offering to send them the one I had bought and that I would be willing to pay the difference to get one of the new bags. Right away I heard back and was told not to worry about it they were going to send me a new bag free of charge no questions asked and that I didn't need to send them the old bag. This is the sign of a really good company. It was much more then I expected and it's made me a customer of theirs for life. In fact www.thewarstore.net has a double sized Sabol "Battalion" Transport exclusive to their site that I plan to purchase when I have the chance.

Now that I've laid my praise on the company, lets get down to what makes the bag great, It's big. One bag hold's my entire regular Dark Angels army plus some, and a 2nd bag will hold my entire Deathwing (with 2 land raiders). The foam that comes with the bag is perfect as your getting started but make sure you check out the other sizes of foam Sabol has available on their website. They have a 4 inch piece that is big enough for a Land Raider , a Dread and Rhino. With a little bit of thought the foam is really easy to shape to what you need and it offers some really nice protection from everyday bumps. It's also nice because you can store your mini's for one army in their foam on a shelf while you use the foam for another army to carry them in the bag. As I said before the bags are now made of a fabric mesh that is really strong. I have no fears of it tearing again unless I myself do something stupid like taking a razor blade to it. The pockets on the front of the bag are big enough to hold Dice, Measuring tape, Calculator, Blast Templates and my good luck Dark Angels Icons. There is room for some books, but I find I carry so many that I just keep them in a backpack anyway. I think the only qualm one could have with the case is that it is soft sided. I'm not sure I would trust it to keep my miniatures safe if it was put into the cargo hold of an airplane (I would take it as a carry on). But for everyday carrying it really does the job, the soft sides are surprisingly thick padded. I would love to see Sabol come out with a hard case the same size, maybe with rollers and a handle (Like the Battalion Transport above) but I'm sure it would also cost an arm and a leg and the current case is good enough.

If you really want to transport your army protected and in style and only want to carry one case you can't go wrong with the Sabol Designs Army Transport. Its worth every penny.
